SEYMOUR AND STRATFORD, CT: Barbara Carroll, age 92 entered peaceful rest on August 5, 2017 at her home; she was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Carroll. Mrs. Carroll was born September 6, 1924 in Fairfield, daughter of the late Raymond and Marion (Denter) Pelletier. Barbara was retired from the former D.M. Reads Department Store. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church, Stratford; she was an avid N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants fan, and she also enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Carroll leaves her loving family including a son, Walter Carroll (Theresa) of Shelton, daughters, Diane Haight (Glen) of Tenants Harbor, ME, Maureen Petrucelli (Bob) of Loxley, AL, Nancy Costello (Kevin) of Seymour with whom she resided, and Susan Baker (Bob) of Monroe. a sister, Patricia Newall (Bob) of Stratford, a brother, The Rev. Walter Pelletier S.J. of Fairfield, also 7 very loved grandchildren, 1 special great grandchild, 3 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her son Daniel E. Carroll, and brothers, Donald and Dexter Pelletier predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. directly at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. There are no calling hours. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church ST., Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements.
