Obituary for Edward J., Sr. Zamoic

SEYMOUR, CT: Edward J. Zamoic, Sr., age 73 of Woodside Avenue, he entered into rest October 1, 2002 at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven; he was the beloved husband of Shirley (Stephen) Zamoic. Mr. Zamoic was born January 19, 1929 in Derby, son of the late Isador and Mary (Kalenda) Zamoic. He was a lifelong Seymour resident and a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Edward was a retired machinist from the Farrel Corp., Ansonia where he worked for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He was an U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran, and was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174, American Legion, Oxford. Edward was a member of the Farrel Old Timers Club, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife Edward leaves his loving family including 1 son James Zamoic of Seymour. 1 daughter, Carol Ann Slusarski of Torrington. 3 sisters, Sophie Dumphy of Manchester, Stella Biondi of Oxford, and Jenny Brooks of Seymour. 1 brother, Joseph Zamoic of Oxford. 2 grandchildren, Nicolas Slusarski of Lamore, CA, and Corey Slusarski of Torrington. Edward’s son Edward J. Zamoic, Jr., and his sister Edna Daily predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to the Church of the Good Shepherd where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Augustine Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
