Well here I sit almost three years later and I still miss you so much. I visit you and talk to you often and only hope you can hear me, sometimes I feel you do b/c when I'm done a gentle breeze will come by and the chime will ring. I miss you Al love you and wish you could of stayed with us a lot longer but heaven wanted you and you had to go. Thats gorgeous! I had one done relnetcy as a wedding gift for my brother. I got them to do a photo of my baby niece (his daughter) who was picking purple petunia's out of a pot! Her wee head was right in amongst the petunia's so it is a stunning piece of art! Rachaelxo

I knew Alan only socially through Karting,(and the year end banquets.) What a great happy and fun guy to be around. (except when I beat him racing). Chrissy is my best friend in the whole world. Her family is like a 2nd family to me and my son, Devin. Me and Devin always had an open invitation to 'Family Dinner Night'. Devin and Al had a cute relationship and would always joke around with eachother. Al was the best dad in the world to Chrissy and Greg and was so laid back and funny with all of us. We love him. Alan was truely the love of my life. He was such a special brother. I could always count on him no matter what. I have wonderful childhood memories that will last a lifetime. He always tried to scare me with an imaginary monster in the attic called Coco. No matter how I tried to get away, the hallway in our house was the haunted zone. Christmas was always a special time with the two of us opening hundreds of presents. I wrapped up my etch-a-sketch and gave it to Al and then cried later because I wanted it back. He always played with his lincoln logs in the middle of the livingroom floor making army forts and I would run through and kick them all down. Growing up, we grew apart somewhat, but I never lost sight of how much he meant to me. Seeing him go through his illness tore me apart because he was such a strong man that was always on the go. I hope he is with dad now and is happy and free from pain. I love you forever Al. Love Always, Debbie

The one thing I will never forget is how much Al warm filled heart for all animals.....Sammy, Mia, and Abbers...and all the wildlife that would come onto the porch early in the morning; who he would throw peanuts out to eat and make sure each squirrel and chipmunk got them before the blue jays could. Big Al was the best grilled cheese maker in the world. He would put a bowl on top of the sandwich to make sure it got nice and crispy..."niceeeee" he would say. There are countless memories of him making food late at night after singing to his favorite songs in the garage on Thirsty Thursdays. Anytime he was around his family, you could see the love he had for his family, his Mom, Chrissy, Gregor, Laila Bug, Travis, and Alex, but most of all his Chopper. Al will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his selflessness, and his love for his family. I know he had a rough last couple of months but remembering all the good times with him will hopefully help his family find comfort in this difficult time.

Whenever there was a celebration Al was there. He invited myself my daughter and my sister to his home on Thanksgiving and we always shared a nice dinner as a family. He gave my son and Chrissy a beautiful wedding and smiled all the way. We shared the birth of our granddaughter together and where the first to hold her. My memories of Al were always a celebration a time of happiness. Al you will be missed but every time there is a celebration I know you will be with us! In mind and spirit

As Al's niece, I cannot express the pain and the heartache that his loss has left my family with. He was an amazing man who worked hard, smiled a lot, and cherished his friends and family. I loved to spend time with Uncle (as I called him) in the garage talking about all of the crazy things only him and I shared. During his battle with cancer he proved to be the strongest person I have ever seen. He smiled when he could and told everyone that he loved them. Although he is no longer here physically, he is here in the hearts of everyone that were blessed enough to know him. I wish my family all the strength in the world during this difficult time and hope that we all find comfort in the fact that he will never be truly gone. To him I am and always will be his "Laurie-Bori-Alice". RIP Uncle. "I believe in yesterday." Love you!
