When I think of my brother, Don, I feel such pride in what he accomplished in his life. From being successful at work and having many friends at Sikorsky, to being a great father to his boys Kyle and Dylan, but also he was a thoughtful and caring son and brother. Life was not always easy for him, but he persevered and kept going, never giving up. He was an inspiration to me. I miss him so much, I miss hearing him call me Joanie, because he was the only person that called me that, in a tone of voice that only Don would say it. I miss his laugh and his sense of humor. Even when things weren't funny, he laughed anyway. I remember talking to him on the phone not long ago and he told me that he had another tumor on his lung, but he told me he wasn't concerned about it and not to worry. Before we hung up, I told him that I loved him, and he just said, "I know" in a soft voice that trailed off with nothing else being said. I think we both knew his time was limited, but he still remained strong and optimistic helping to ease our worries. He brought Barb into our lives, and she is a blessing to all of us and we thank God for that. Don was truly happy in the last 2 years since she came into his life and I know those memories they had will be cherished forever. I think about you Donny and miss you so much. There are no words to describe the amount of love I had for my father. It seemed as if his knowledge was never ending. I know I learned a lot from him, for the most part he taught me everything I know, whether it be how to throw a frisbee or fix something wrong with the car. Not only was he smart, he was the strongest man ive ever known. This wasnt just ordinary strength though, I mean that bike trek he did sure suprised me, but he also had a strong will and determination. My father never gave up on anything besides smoking. And sure he could've been strict and hard on you at times, hed always end up apologizing because he had the biggest heart. I didnt just lose a father, I lost my best friend and I will always remember what he taught me and I will always love you dad.

Don was a great guy. We used to go back and forth via emails with workout schedules, recipes, supplements. He bought by stock pipes from my Harley for his bike. I really enjoyed his company and he was always in a great mood when I talked to him. This front picture of him is fitting. Always smiling, always upbeat even thru all he has been thru. I'm glad I had this space to send this msg to his family JJ

Although I did not know Don personally it seems that he was a very adventurous man with a big heart that will be dearly missed. My family and I know the pain of losing a loved one far too young so I wanted to share a comforting thought with your family that has helped us to cope. What has helped me in times past are the Bible's promises for the future. For instance, the promise we have in the twenty-fourth chapter of the book of Acts reveals that there will , “be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Verse 15) I love that scripture because it gives us hope that we can see all of our loved ones that we have lost in death once more. At first it may seem too good to be true, but most of God's word is focused on telling us how this and many other prophecies in the Bible will come true. Such promises always help me to see that God does care about each of us and since He, like a loving parent, hates to see us suffer He soon plans on getting rid of tragedies that we now have to face. There are so many more promises in the Bible that can encourage us both now and in the future, but I hope this brief scripture helped you as much as it has me in the past. I will always remember that no matter how our conversations started, serious or not, they always seemed to end up with both of us laughing like crazy men. Donald Dorosh, will always be my beloved "Uncle Donnie." Ever since I was a little kid I've looked up to Uncle Donnie for being the fearless traveler of the family. He embraced life in Alaska, and then Colorado. He wasn't afraid to be away from home and see what the world had to offer. When the day came that I decided to leave home to the west coast to pursue a camera career in Hollywood, saying goodbye's were hard. But I remembered back to memories of Donnie in my childhood. When the time came to say goodbye to him, I teared up. And this is what he said, "I'm going to tell you what my dad told me when I moved away from home. I was about your age. And he said, 'just remember, The East Coast Is Cool.'" Remember, the east coast is cool." That was Grandpa Dorosh's way of telling Donnie to remember where he came from. To not forget about the family. To Respect them and his home and his history. And boy, did he ever. Uncle Donnie remembered his family and where he came from, and he proved it everyday of his life. He was an upstanding son, brother, and father and uncle. He was everything we should all strive to be. I was reluctant to share this story at first. But in conversations, I've come to realize that no one else in the family had heard of this story. Since the years away from home, I've heard of others in the family catching the bug to explore other areas of the country. My Uncle Alan, has moved to Alabama, as did my mom, Joan....My grandma Carolyn has become a frequent flier for the first time in her life going from California to Alabama to Connecticut! And most recently, my two baby cousins, Kyle and Dylan are venturing into their futures away from home in Pennsylvania and Alabama for college. So, I feel it's my duty to spread the words of strength and wisdom of both Stephen Dorosh and Donald Dorosh to everyone in the family, because that's what they would have wanted. And I am proud and over joyed to be joined with them in the list of family now inspiring others to find their place in the world. I will love him always. I will draw on his strength always. But most importantly, I will be keep his spark of adventure, strength, and love of family burning on into years to come. (I love you Uncle Donnie, and I know. LOL! The east coast is cool! Thank you for helping me see that. XOXOXOXOXO )
