Our deepest condolence to Auntie Donna, Uncle Jimmy and their family in the sad news of Grandma Deren's passing. We remember her wonderful cooking and the stories she loved to tell. She was a very sweet, polite and gentle person. She will be missed. We will keep your family in our prayers. R.I.P. Grandma Deren. You are in a better place now.

Story shared: Retire?

After work one night I called Ms. Deren's daughter Donna's home and instead of Donna answering the phone I was greeted with Ms. Deren. I asked to speak with Donna and Ms. Deren said, in a wonderful little voice, that "she's not home." I said, "ok i'll call again later." To which Ms. Deren replied, "whom shall I say is calling?" I said my name is Dale and I've worked with Donna for many years. To which she responded, with an adorable sweetness and inquisitiveness, "WHEN IS SHE GOING TO RETIRE?" I stated, after laughing to myself at the nature of the very same question to which we had all asked at the time, "I don't know Ms. Deren, she never says anything about it." She said, "ok" and I told her I would call back later. I told this story to co-workers at the time who all had fun repeating it, due to the sweet sounding elderly voice that she had, as well as the beautiful nature of the question she had asked. "When is she going to retire," is a line, said in such an adorable, sweet little voice, with such a significant question, that I will always remember that short little conversation.
