Born on the family farm in Seymour on October 10, 1919, Lydia was a daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Michaelowski) Kordick.

Lydia was born and raised in Seymour, attending the one-room schoolhouse on Bungay Road and later attending Seymour High School. She was employed by UniRoyal Footware in Naugatuck for 25 years before retiring and moving to Florida. She returned to Connecticut in 2015 to live with her daughter and be closer to her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, as well as playing cards. Lydia also was an accomplished knitter and, until her death, was working on her third shipment of donated hats, baby blankets and sweaters to be sent to Ukraine. She didn’t look her age and astonished everyone by her clear mind and thoughtful ways.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Dolores Hanley of California, as well as brothers, Alexander Kordick and Harry Kordick, and sisters, Olga Hardy, Nina Mongillo, Valentina Paulus and Eugenia Ford.

All services will be held at the convenience of the family and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St, Seymour CT 06488, has been entrusted with her arrangements.
