SEYMOUR, CT: Violet A. (Malinauskas) Johnson, age 95, passed peacefully at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour in the early hours of December 29, 2022. She was born and lived in Seymour, CT for most of her life. Her parents Vincent and Anna raised their family on their farm on Great Hill Road. She met her husband Edwin as a teenager and raised her twin daughters with him until his passing in 2001. She missed him every day for the rest of her life. Many will remember her as the secretary of Bungay School for twenty five years and the “reading lady” who read to Bungay students for many years after retiring.

Violet leaves her twin daughters Pamela Finkle and her husband Wayne, and Susan Wachtelhausen and her husband Thomas; her three grandchildren, Tyler and Gregg Wachtelhausen and Amy Grant will always remember their happy days together playing at the farm, baking Christmas cookies, and sleeping overnight with Gram and Poppa. Her great grandchildren Madeline, Jack, Maisey, and Pepper will always remember their Nana. Violet also leaves behind her brother Richard Malinauskas, and sister, Beatrice Matthews. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her sisters Caroline, Helen, and Florence, and brother, Walter.

Calling Hours are Monday January 9, 2023 from 9 AM to 10:30 Am at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at St. Nicholas Parish-Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
