Obituary for Ilse Spear (Hofmann)
NAUGATUCK – Ilse Spear, age 91 of Naugatuck, beloved wife of the late Charles M. Spear, entered peaceful rest in Waterbury Hospital on Friday, March 20, 2020. Born in Munich, Germany on December 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Kunigunda (Welliner)Hofmann.
Ilse emigrated to the United States in 1952 after meeting Charles while he was stationed in Germany. An outgoing and quick witted person, she loved to make people laugh and enjoyed having cake and coffee with her friends. She was a lifelong member of the Germania Sports Club in Bridgeport, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but above all else, family was her world, especially her grandsons.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Charlene DeCampos and her husband Ed of Beacon Falls, and her two cherished grandsons, Justin and Jakob.
A Celebration of Ilse’s life will be held on a date to be determined at the The Crystal Room Catering Hall in Naugatuck. Please check periodically on our website (www.hullfh.com) for further information regarding this event. Due to social restrictions, all services will be private at the convenience of the family and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
