Obituary for Jean Gesek (Bludnicki)

Jean (Bludnicki) Gesek ,age 96 of Seymour,beloved wife of the late Joseph Gesek, entered into peaceful rest at her home on February 2, 2020. Mrs. Gesek was born in Ansonia on August 9, 1923. she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Kulpecksa) Bludnicki. Jean attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated from Ansonia/Pine High School Class of 1941. She also attended Stone School of Business. She worked for Farrell Corporation in accounts receivable for twenty-five years before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Nicholas Parish/ Church of the Good Shepherd.

Jean enjoyed catching early bird specials at various restaurants with Joe, taking trips to Cape Cod and Ocean City, Maryland and various tropical islands. She also looked forward to her Thursday hair appointments with Clare and her chauffeur John. Jean was an avid fan of the UConn Huskies and the Seymour Wildcats.She looked forward to watching the Hallmark Channel and the Game Show Network. She always had the latest novel and instilled in her children the love of reading.

Jean leaves her loving family: daughters Saundra Gesek of Seymour, Elizabeth Sponheimer (Paul) of Seymour, Kathy Macko (Glen) of Cromwell, and son Jay Gesek (Sharon) of Seymour; grandchildren Courtney, Kevin, Tara, Brad, Callah, Caitlin,and Deirdre; great grandchildren Gavin,Lucille,Aurelien, and Copeland; brothers Benjamin (Brownie)Bludnicki of Trumbull and Edward Bludnicki of Ansonia, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be Saturday February 8, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A Funeral Service in celebration of Jean’s life will immediately follow at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Derby.
