SOUTHBURY: Julia R. Zeiner, age 88, of Southbury and formerly of Bridgeport, entered into peaceful rest on June 28, 2011 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late James S. and Agnes (O’Kane) Rawley and was born on July 25, 1922 in Bridgeport. Mrs. Zeiner was a Directory Assistance Observer for SNET in Bridgeport for many years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed reading and baking.

She is survived by her children, James E. Zeiner and his wife June of Merrietta, CA, Arlene “Pat” Hluska of Southbury and Barbara J. King of Chapel Hill, TN, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 103 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Ralph E.
