OXFORD, CT: Edna D. Smith age 89 of Oxford entered peaceful rest on February 11, 2018 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; she was the beloved wife of Harold H. Smith. Mrs. Smith was born in Oxford on January 16, 1929, daughter of the late August and Sarah (Jasmine) Douillet. Edna was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where she and her husband were married 69 years ago. She was a member of the Oxford Garden Club, and enjoyed swim aerobics at the Ansonia Y. A devoted UCONN Women’s Huskies Basketball fan, she also loved playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Edna leaves her loving family including her sons, Gary Smith (Karen) of Oxford, and Fred Smith (JoAnn Welsh) of Derby, her daughter, Brenda Vogel (Frederick) of Scarborough, ME; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Carly (Erik), Ryan (Katie), Steven, Ricky, Jameson, and Eliza; also 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Beulah Miles and Erma Pope predeceased her.

A Memorial Service of Requiem Eucharist will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Directly in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 421 Oxford Rd., Oxford, CT 06478. There are no calling hours. Memorial Gifts may be sent to St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
