SEYMOUR, CT: Marion E. Bentley, age 90 a longtime Seymour resident entered peaceful rest on February 1, 2018 at Split Rock Assisted Living, Shelton; she was the beloved wife of the late George C. Bentley. Mrs. Bentley was born December 22, 1927 in Derby, daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Flynn) Ryan. Marion was a retired Secretary. She was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd; she was active in the Shelton and Derby Senior Centers, and she also loved to sew, cook, and cane chairs.
Marion leaves her loving family including, her son, George T. Bentley (Ruth) of Seymour, daughters, Maureen Bentley, and Kathleen Nelson (Thomas) both of Naugatuck, grandchildren, George C. Bentley (Kristen), Evan Bentley (Christina DeAngelo), Kate O'Keefe(Joe), Kelly Nelson, and Brian and Amanda. Also 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Patrick, William, and Gerald Ryan, and sister Margaret Moffatt predeceased her.
Calling Hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Funeral Services are Monday at the Church of the Good Shepherd (DIRECTLY), 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to the Harbor Care Unit at Split Rock Assisted Living, 708-a Bridgeport Av., Shelton, CT 06484, Attn. Sarah Pease.
