SEYMOUR – Audrey R. Waskewicz, age 84 of Seymour, entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Joseph Waskewicz Jr. Born in Derby on July 22, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Estelle (Blake) Root. Audrey or "Mama" as many knew her, was the life of the party. She had a unique way of lighting up every room she entered with her very presence. She loved to cook, play the piano and sing (especially with her great grandsons). She was an avid UCONN Huskies and Yankees fan. She cherished her great grandchildren and loved coming up with new games for them to play. Audrey had an unbounded love for her family and friends and always brought laughter and light to any situation. Audrey also enjoyed animals, gardening, and canning. She had a huge heart and was loved by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving children, Karendale Waskewicz, Joseph Waskewicz III (Denise), and Bonnielou Stanis (Kevin); five adored grandchildren, Joseph Waskewicz IV, Kevin Stanis, Trisha Bradlee (Frank), Alexandra Rimkus (Stephen), and Blake-Joseph Black; two cherished great grandchildren, Colt Stanis and Stephen Rimkus; sisters, June Hennessy (Joe), Mary White, Joyce Blewett, Nancy Rich and Karen Root; she is also survived by her companion, Walter Lednovich. She was predeceased by her siblings, Benjamin Jr., Thomas, David, and Earl Root, Edna Fleming and Marion Senderoff.
