Condolence From: Toni Scherrer

Condolence: I knew Tania when she was a nurse at Rumsey Hall and my husband was young faculty in the 1980's. I was quite fond of her. I was a beginning gardener, and she gave me some divisions of mini carnations which moved with me to 3 different apts at Rumsey, then 2 apts at my PA school, then 3 apts at my NY school, and will soon be traveling with me when I retire to VA. Tania was also a gifted artist and did art restoration, and gifted me with a few projects. I just came across a Christmas card from her in 1991. I held onto it because I was trying to get hold of her for quite awhile...At some point, she moved from her house in Litchfield. Now I've finally been able to find this online. The photos are wonderful, just as I remember her.

Condolence: I am so grateful to have known Tania. I met her through her mother Olga and her stepfather Jacques, my wonderful neighbors in Litchfield. Tania was always upbeat and a joy to be around. She was a caring person and no surprise that she chose a career in nursing. She was a talented artist as were Olga and Jacques. I am so grateful to have several painted boxes and reverse glass pieces she created. They will always bring me fond memories of Tania and her family. Rest in Peace
