Richard John Kalish Sr. passed away suddenly at his home on June 22nd. He was born in Bridgeport on 0ctober 11, 1939 to the late Edward and Marie (Mikulka) Kalish. Richard worked for Bridgeport Brass and more recently Command Security. He loved growing his garden every year and was proud of his vegetables and flowers, always sharing with family and friends. An avid sports fan, Richard religiously watched his Giants, Mets and Huskies. He had a love for history and collected many pieces of memorabilia of the past in his years. More than anything he loved his family and spending time with them, especially the grand/ great grand children. Richard leaves his children, Keith Kalish (Victoria) of Milford, Barbara Tartaglio (John) of Milford, Richard Kalish Jr. (Dianne) of Seymour, Robert Kalish (Kristen) of Seymour and Stephanie Ungar (Stephen) of Naugatuck; his sister, Joyce Buonanno (Costa) of FL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; his niece and nephew; adopted daughter, Amanda Gabianelli of Naugatuck; his best bud, Felix his cat, as well as many friends and extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 9 am in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 and at 10 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Interment will follow in Polish National Cemetery, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call on Monday, June 27 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
