Obituary for George E. Ellis

WOODBRIDGE – George E. Ellis, age 93 of Seymour, beloved husband of Mary Elaine (Casey) Ellis, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Willows of Woodbridge Nursing Home. Born in Richmond, VT on September 18, 1922, he was a son of the late Guy M. and Helen (Cummings) Ellis.

A proud U.S. Navy hero of WWII, Mr. Ellis survived a Kamikaze attack in which his ship was lost. He was a security officer for Sikorsky Aircraft and loved the NY Yankees as well as visiting the casino.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, Mr. Ellis is survived by his sons, David Ellis and his longtime companion Murielle Madore of Milford, and William Ellis of FL; step-daughter, Linda Vignola and her husband Michael of Seymour; nephew, James P. Jablonski and his wife Sue A. of Westerville,OH; niece, Judy Jablonski-Libbey and her husband Ronald F. of Franklin MA, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Barrow; step-daughter, Gail Henry; and his sister, Patricia and brother-in-law Casimer Jablonski.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour. Inurnment with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. directly in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Daniels Farm Rd. Trumbull.
