Sandra Jeanette Villegas, age 53, of Seymour, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.

She was the oldest of Leonor Contreras four beloved children and was born on November 7, 1960 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Over the years she has resided in Bridgeport, Norwich and Costa Rica.

She was an energetic woman and enjoyed many activities including swimming, tennis and dancing. Sandra was happiest near the ocean basking in the sun amongst her loved ones. Her passion and dedication toward her family was pure and unhindered. While facing the daily challenges of raising four children, her perseverance enabled her to graduate from college with high honors. She proudly worked as a medical interpreter for many years, and loved being able to help people through their difficult times.

In addition to her loving mother, Leonor of Bridgeport, she leaves her four children, Diana Villegas of Seymour, Melina Villegas of San Jose, Costa Rica, Carlos Villegas of Chicago, IL and Alexander Villegas. Sandra adored her four beautiful grandchildren, Ariana, Jasmine, Nicholas and Lillian. She will be deeply missed by her brother, Carlos Palacios of Southington, her two sisters, Edna Gonzalez of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Arlene Gonzalez of Bridgeport, her cousin Anna Luna, whom she loved like a sister, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 8:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be held in private. To share a memory online or directions please go only to www.hullfh.com
